Prayer for our loved ones

Will you not see ? Will you not hear?
Of the glories of the one who holds you so dear
Why will you not turn? Why will you not fear?
The one and only God who wants you to draw near.

No, eyes that have not seen, and hearts that won’t fear,
Will never know of His kingdom that draws near.

Will you not run? Will you not lay hold?
Of the only one who can save your soul.
You Run with the liars, you run with the fools,
Boasting of rebellion, mocking the kingdom’s rules.

No, eyes that have not seen, and hearts that won’t fear,
Will never know of His kingdom that draws near.

My heart no better, yet to His grace I came,
I pray for you that your soul He might tame,
Cry out to Him on your bended knee,
How I pray my loved one that your eyes might see.

I pray that your eyes might see, that your heart might fear,
And that one day you will allow His kingdom to draw near.

The Word became flesh for fallen man

So vast, so deep, you know I’ll never understand,
The mysteries, the wonders of the works of your hands,
These same hands now in the form of a babe,
Holding on to a mother’s breast where His head lay,
The Word became flesh for fallen man.

No royal announcement, your glory laid down,
Born far from a Palace, golden hay for a crown,
Lowly shepherds, would be the first to hear,
The humblest of hearts that you would call near,
The Word became flesh for fallen man.

From the heights of heaven, now hid in a cave,
In the midst of the darkness, that you came to save,
Salvation has come, let the heavens now ring,
Emmanuel , it is only to you that we will sing,
For the Word has become flesh for fallen man.

Home will always be where our hearts beat.

No matter how far we go.
No matter how far we roam,
Home will always be where our hearts beat.

Got a phone call from her today,
I could hear the sigh in her voice,
She was telling me how crazy her day had been,
That she missed her momma and me,
I had to tell her everything was going to be alright,
And that she would always be like the stars in our sky.

So no matter how far we go,
No matter how far we roam,
Home will always be where our hearts beat.

Lost his job down in Shreveport,
Soon after that they lost the home of their dreams,
They loaded up the U-Haul and the old Chevy,
He looked into their eyes and said a prayer,
Then they shut the door of their home one last time,
She looked at him again and then he said these words,

So no matter how far we go,
No matter how far we roam,
Home is where our hearts will always beat,
So no matter how far we go,
No matter how far we roam,
Home is where our hearts will always be.

They had to put him in the home,
Cause all the puzzles pieces no longer fit in his mind,
She put her hand into his hand one more time,
She would look deep into his blue eyes,
But there was nothing left but a vacant stare,
Then she whispered into his ear one last time.

So no matter how far we go,
No matter how far we roam,
Home is where our hearts will always beat,
So no matter how far we go,
No matter how far we roam,
Home is where our hearts will always beat.

For Hannah and Hadassah

Watching you, as they placed you into my arms,
Made a vow to you to keep you from all harm,
I sang a tune for you; it was clearly out of tune,
I watched your little hands as they tried to touch the moon.

Watching you, as the years roll by,
Watching you, as you try to touch the skies,
I’ll always say a prayer for you, no matter what you do,
Watching you, with pride in my heart, I’ll always be watching you.

Watching you as you stumble and fall,
Seeing you get up when your backs against the wall,
Standing up for others, when no one else seemed to care,
You have been an example, you have answered our prayers.

Watching you, as the years roll by,
Watching you, as you try to touch the skies,
I’ll always say a prayer for you, no matter what you do,
Watching you, with pride in my heart, I’ll always be watching you.

Watching you as you wave good-bye,
Telling your mommy and daddy not to cry,
Know this for certain; know that this will always be true,
Your daddy will always be watching for you.

Watching you, as the years roll by,
Watching you, as you try to touch the skies,
I’ll always say a prayer for you, no matter what you do,
Watching you, with pride in my heart, I’ll always be watching you.

Letting Go

Letting Go

Though the darkness around me gathers,
Though the paths do not seem so clear,
Sometimes the burdens seem so heavy,
But you are near, yes, you are near.

So I’m letting go of my tomorrows,
I’m letting go of all my fears,
I’m letting go of all my glory,
For you are near, yes, you are near.

Like the Psalmist I feel forsaken,
Where are you when I call?
Shattered dreams at my feet are broken,
But you are near, yes, you are near.

So I’m letting go of my tomorrows,
I’m letting go of all my fears,
I’m letting go of all my glory,
For you are near, yes, you are near.

Take away the fears of my heart Lord,
Take away my desire to control the way,
Let me take hold of the hand of my Jesus,
For you are near, yes, you are near.

So I’m letting go of my tomorrows,
I’m letting go of all my fears,
I’m letting go of all my glory,
My Jesus you are here, yes, you are here.

What type of house are you building?

He built his home by the shore line,
So that he and his loved ones could enjoy the waves,
He lived for all of this earth's pleasures,
Taught his wife and children to do the same,
They had dreams of visions and of glory,
They lived their lives only for themselves,
The very waves of pleasure they loved destroyed them,
With no foundation, the seas just swept them away.

So what type of house are you building?
Does it stand for the Lord?
Does it have a firm foundation?
Is it built to stand the storms?

He built his castle all around him,
A greater vision of beauty had never been seen,
It reached as far as into the heavens,
Men would stand in awe of its majesty.
Yet, he shut out his wife and children,
He had put a lock upon the door,
It was a castle that had no windows,
Beautiful on the outside but it was built for him and no more.

So what type of house are you building?
Does it stand for the Lord?
Does it have a firm foundation?
Is it built to stand the storms?

His whole life had been in shambles,
He had nothing to offer his family but agony,
Then, one night, he cried out to Jesus,
Please, my God, hear this sinner's plea,
The foundation for his home was now given,
He spoke of Jesus constantly to his family,
One by one their hearts cried out to Jesus,
And their home was built on what was done at Calvary.

So what type of house are you building?
Does it stand for the Lord?
Does it have a firm foundation?
Is it built to stand the storms?

Light of the world!

Light of the world, one day you will vanquish all the darkness,
Light of the world, you alone will conquer all my foes,
Break forth through the clouds in all of your fullness,
I cry out for the day when your glory will be fully known.

And you will shine on my face, like upon the face of Moses,
And I will bask in your glory and humbly bow before your throne,
And all of my sins and this worlds will be finally righted,
When you come again, Light of the world, and take me home.

Sometimes my world, doesn't seem to make any sense at all,
Sometimes I can't even see, and doubt what you have in store,
But I know this one thing, that you are the only thing that is certain,
Light of the World, Light of the World, Shine forth,

And you will shine on my face, like upon the face of Moses,
And I will bask in your glory and humbly bow before your throne,
And all of my sins and this worlds will finally be righted,
When you come again, Light of the world, and take me home.

Despair and misery, and all of this vain worlds treasures,
Sickness and death, will be vanquished forevermore,
For one day all of this darkness will flee from your very presence,
Light of the world, shine forth, and take me home.

And you will shine on my face, like upon the face of Moses,
And I will bask in your glory and humbly bow before your throne,
And all of my sins and this worlds will be finally righted,
When you come again, Light of the world, and take me home.
Yes, when you come again, Light of the World, and take us home.

He still walks near

At this moment everything seems to be fleeting,
All of time seems to flow out like a hand gripping sand,
My heart is yearning for a home marked by peace,
My soul is groaning to see the Ancient of days,

And the one who walks before me knows my soul,
He hears my groans and sees these rivers of tears,
And the one who walks before me hears my voice,
Though He knows my deepest thoughts He still walks near.

The howling of wolves and jackals draw near,
And the giants across the river gather for me,
Will my soul be crushed into the dust?
Will I be devoured by those who once were so near?

And the one who walks before me knows my soul,
He hears my groans and sees these rivers of tears,
And the one who walks before me hears my voice,
Though He knows my deepest thoughts He still walks near.

I can hear the voices of the walking dead,
They are crying for me to join them in the fray,
I have got to close my eyes and shut my ears,
Reach out my hand to Him and draw Him near.

And the one who walks before me knows my soul,
He hears my groans and sees these rivers of tears,
And the one who walks before me hears my voice,
Though He knows my deepest thoughts He still walks near.

(This and the Poem Tripping hopefully will be a trilogy of David like Psalms about the darkness and how the Lord walks with Him through it all.)

Tripping on the stairs

Tripping on the stairs
Looking for the light in the midst of the darkness,
So far God it feels like a deep dark cave,
Looking for encouragement from those around me,
Seems like it does not matter whatever they say,
Want to scream and pull over the covers,
Want to shout out do you really care?
The darkness has seemed to have overtaken, feel like I'm tripping on the stairs.

And I'm falling, falling into the arms of the Savior,
Falling, I can't even seem to catch my breath,
But I know for sure that this one thing is for certain,
That wherever  I fall, you will surely catch me there.

Though the shadows of this life seem to cover the light,
Though my heart maybe grieving over the losses of this world,
Pain  seems to be ripping everything inside of me apart,
Uncertainty of the ground below me,
I enter into the whole mess trembling,
I enter into a vision of complete blindness,
The darkness has seemed to have overtaken, feels like I'm tripping on the stairs.

But I will be falling, falling into the arms of the Savior,
Falling, I can't even seem to catch my breath,
But I know for sure that this one is for certain,
That wherever I fall, you will surely catch me there.

Open my eyes in the midst of the darkness,
Guide me through the maze in the deep dark cave,
Help me to find my encouragement from your strong arms,
Lift me up so that I can say,
My Jesus Cares, I know my Jesus Cares.

As I'm falling, I'll be falling into the arms of my Savior,
As I'm falling, He will breathe into me His life,
Help me to see that this one thing is for certain,
That wherever I fall, You will surely catch me there.
Yes, my sweet Lord Jesus you will surely catch me there.

Because of death upon a tree

I woke up this morning overwhelmed by the love and mercy of God towards me. I thought of how often I fail when trials come and yet how He has never forsaken me once. I will never comprehend or fully understand His unfailing love. I wrote these words knowing that although I may not always be faithful to Him, He will always be faithful to me.

Will I walk with you through the darkest night?
Will I speak you name when others take flight?
What will I do when all the flames grow high?
What shall I do if I were given a chance to hide?

How could I forget you and the scars on your back?
Agony, you suffered as my sins are no longer tracked,
Love, that was spilt while you bled and died for me,
Grace, freely given because of death upon a tree.

Will I stand even when my family tells me no?
Will I walk through the valley, fight against the foe?
What will I do when they mock and spit in your face?
What shall I do when I run towards you in this race?

How could I forget you and the scars on your back?
Agony, you suffered as my sins are no longer tracked,
Love, that was spilt while you bled and died for me,
Grace, freely given because of death upon a tree.

You promised that you would always stand beside me,
You promised me a Heaven that one day my eyes will see,
You said that you would never deny me, as you plead for me,
Your grace is freely given because of death upon a tree.

How could I forget you and the scars on your back?
Agony, you suffered as my sins were no longer tracked,
Love, that was spilt while you bled and died for me,
Grace, freely given because of death upon a tree,
Oh, your sweet grace, was freely given because of death upon a tree.

How I long for these days. :)

Shepherd

Out in the darkness there these men stood,
Just simple men who had work to do,
Little did they know they would be the first ones,
To tell the world the King of Kings has come.

Run, Run, Shepherd Run
From out of the darkness into the sun,
Go, tell the world, that He has come,
Run, Run, Shepherd Run.

Out of nowhere light exploded in the sky,
Filled with fear as His glory came down,
The angel spoke and said, "Fear not."
"Good news I bring about a baby boy."

Run, Run , Shepherd Run
From out of the darkness into the sun,
Go, tell the world that He has come,
Run, Run Shepherd Run.

In Bethlehem  a Savior had been born,
This was the one who is Christ the Lord,
Wrapped in cloths lying in a manger,
The angels with great joy sang to them,

Run, Run, Shepherd Run
From out of the darkness into the sun,
Go, tell the world that He has come,
Run, Run Shepherd Run.

To Bethlehem these men ran,
Looking into the very face of God,
There was only one thing for them to do,
They had to go tell the world that He had come.

Run, Run, Shepherd Run
From out of the darkness into the SON,
Go, tell the world that He has come,
Run, Run Shepherd Run

The Old Preacher

The old preacher slowly moved towards the pulpit. He closed his eyes and looked towards the heavens asking Jesus to give him the words to say. "Revival that is the topic I believe that the Lord would have me to talk about today. We seek for it, read about it, and for some of us we even pray for it."

"I know that God's Word makes it clear that we will never see it come to brothers who would rather complain or back bite one another. Rather it will come to the heart of one who seeks to love his brother."

"It will not be based on how loud or softly we sing our hymns towards Him. It will come to the one who not only sings the words but applies them to his heart and life. The one who can sing, I surrender all and mean it with his heart."

"It will come to the one who loves the Word more then he loves life itself. It will be his measuring rod, his companion, his constant source of strength. The Word alone is where His Savior will be revealed."

"To the one whom revival comes, it will be Jesus, that is his all in all. He will wake up to Him, work his day with Him and he will find rest in his sleep as he closes his day with Him. He will ask himself what is the most important thing in this world? My fame, my pride, my petty wants that seem so important to me? No his question will be is Jesus exalted in my life? Do I speak of Him constantly as my Savior, Lord and Friend? Is He truly the focus of my life and the one upon whom I truly depend?"

"He will not see himself as a separate entity from the church for which His Savior bled and died. The problem will not be how the church is failing but rather, as a part of it, what more can I do to prepare His bride?"

"His sin and holiness will grip him and bring him to his knees. He will not be able to escape how bright the piercing eyes of the Holy One can see even his most secret thoughts. At the same time he will stand in awe of the one who loved him while he was still His enemy. He will be more broken over the fact that such a God would love him and send his Son to die for him upon the cross. His heart will rejoice to realize that he has been made clean. What wondrous love is this will forever be his theme."

"Yes, before I pray that revival comes upon this church or upon its people. First of all, Dear Jesus, let revival fall upon me."

"What is that which is more important in all of this life? That Jesus be exalted. That He is hailed as the king of kings. This is my hearts' prayer that true revival will fall upon me, so that the name above all names maybe exalted in me."

My Sweet Immanuel

I had long lived in the darkness, in the land of the dead,
Living like a madman, with all this screaming in my head,
Bound by chains of sin and sorrow, forged by the flames of Hell,
Blinded by the darkness till He came, My sweet Immanuel.

And the only way you find peace is through the one with the nail scarred hands,
And all the treasures that you vainly seek are only found in one man,
And the darkness that we live in can be forgiven by the Lamb,
No longer blinded by the darkness My sweet Immanuel.

The serpent had clearly spoken and to my shame, I had given him my life,
All the promises that he made were all broken, every one in due time,
Acting like the Whore that I was, and like a drunkard with his wine,
I was blinded by the darkness till He came, My sweet Immanuel.

And the only way you find peace is through the one with the nail scarred hands,
And all the treasures that you vainly seek are only found in one man,
And the darkness that we live in can be forgiven by the Lamb,
No longer blinded by the darkness My sweet Immanuel.

I still can’t believe His Grace shown to this Child of Hell,
The chains that once had bound me, because of His blood no longer dwell,
The darkness has been vanquished and now I can clearly see,
No longer blinded by the darkness since He came, My sweet Immanuel.

And the only way you find peace is through the one with the nail scarred hands,
And all the treasures that you vainly seek are only found in one man,
And the darkness that we live in can be forgiven by the Lamb,
No longer blinded by the darkness, My sweet Immanuel,
Yes, I am no longer blinded by the darkness because of My sweet Immanuel.
(ISAIAH 7:14)
Yes, I am no longer blinded by the darkness because of My sweet Immanuel.

Blessing

May your eyes see Jesus only,
May your lips speak of him always,
And may you run the race bravely,
And let your light so shine.

HIS MAJESTY

Can you imagine a love deeper than the ocean?
Can you fathom a forgiveness that never ends?
Can you even dream about a land that will never know any sorrow?
That’s just the beginning of your time with His Majesty.

And it will be crystal clear when we shall see Him,
And all our questions will be answered when His face we see,
For then we shall walk with Him in all of His glory,
Crying out for all eternity to His Majesty.
Crying out for all eternity to His Majesty.

Can you imagine a land that does not look on a man's color?
Can you fathom someone who loves you more than the best of Fathers?
Can you even dream of this one who gave of His blood for you?
And to know you'll be with Him in the presence of His Majesty.

And it will be crystal clear when we shall see Him,
And all our questions will be answered when His face we see,
For then we shall walk with Him in all of His glory,
Crying out for all eternity to His Majesty.
Crying out for all eternity to His Majesty.

Can you imagine the voices as they gather round His throne?
Can you fathom the idea of no more sin from our mortal bodies?
Can you even dream of what it will be like to look into His eyes?
And to know that we will forever live before His Majesty.

And it will be crystal clear when we shall see Him,
And all our questions will be answered when His face we see,
For then we shall walk with Him in all of His glory,
Crying out for all eternity to His Majesty.
Crying out for all eternity to His Majesty.
