To walk into Heaven and call it home

Shattered lives with no hope and nothing but hurt,
Dreaming little of the eternal but only of the absurd,
Like the prodigal I come running into Your arms,
Covered with the smell of death You keep me from all harm,
And I’m still amazed that I’ll be able..

To walk into Heaven and call it home,
To see You, the Holy One on the throne,
To walk into Heaven and call it home,
The greatest hope realized that I’ll be Yours alone.

Out in the Sudan holding her child to her breast,
Tears in her eyes she looks upon his swollen chest,
His little hand reaches out to her face just once more,
Her hands reach out to the Heavens as her heart is so torn,
Crying out to Jesus knowing that he will be able…

To walk into Heaven and call it home,
To see You, the Holy One on the throne,
To walk into Heaven and call it home,
The greatest hope realized that I’ll be Yours alone.

No more death, sorrow or pain,
No more fears it’s all washed away,
  Forever changed, forever changed
For He reigns, yes, He reigns,
As we walk into Heaven and call it home.
